Are you looking for a cheap thermal imaging camera to get you started?
Infrared thermal imaging cameras have become really cheap now that the manufacturers are competing hard with eachother. What has happened is a snowball effect… what we mean by that, is that the cheaper the infrared cameras become, the more people can afford to own thermal cameras for a cheap price… and that creates more demand! So suddenly the cheaper version becomes the ‘best seller’ and the company rolls out more of them off the production line. Great if you’re the buyer looking to start in the IR industry!
Like anything though, cheap is for a reason. Maybe the detector in the camera is cheap, or the thermal sensitivity is not very good, meaning the amount of time during the day you can use it is reduced significantly.
Make sure you have a good talk to the manufacturers or local distributors who sell thermal imaging cameras, because the warrantee that normally comes with the camera could be called upon if there’s fault… so find out what the criteria is for a warrantee claim is before purchasing. If you can only afford a budget thermal camera to get started in this business, then that’s ok… go out and make some money then upgrade later!
